A classic!

What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

Refrain:
Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
Leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

Oh, how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
Oh, how bright the path grows from day to day,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
Leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

Last night I went to bed with a lot on my mind and trying to take my anxious thoughts to the Lord. As I prayed and asked the Lord the question "How," I just heard the Lord say lean on my everlasting arm. I first thought, wasn't that a hymn. I mean I didn't necessarily listen all the time when the hymn books came out in church as a little girl. I mean who could understand half those words! A classic can be tried and true, bringing in truth relevant for all times. The hymn was written in 1887 and was said to of been written after the great loss of a spouse. Based on the scripture Deuteronomy 33:27:

The eternal God is your refuge,and his everlasting arms are under you.He drives out the enemy before you;he cries out, ‘Destroy them!’(NLT)

I hope you find some assurance in the Lord today and His everlasting arms under you.
